Here is 5 Ways to Get MORE Customer Reviews to Your Business

        seo marketing more customer reviews

        Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing another tip related to product and customer reviews. This is still an important part of the work to do to gain the trust of new visitors and improve conversions on your website.

I often see site owners who have few to zero customer reviews on their sites because they struggle to get them and are afraid to get in this game because of potential bad reviews. But if you ask me this is a mistake because they keep losing potential clients.
Having bad reviews is ok from time to time, as long as you have many other reviews and that you answer the negative ones. This is the opportunity for you to show that you care about your customers and are here to answer if there is any problem, this is the most important part of customer service.

There are several ways to get customers reviews, here is the top five of the most effective and common ways to get customers reviews :

        1. Post purchase email reminders
This is the most common way to ask reviews : someone buys a product from your shop, then, after a period of time, you send them an email to ask about their opinion with a link to the review page. This is pretty effective !
You can send several reminder emails to ask for reviews, some brands decide to send you emails until you leave a review. To my mind, one email and one reminder are enough, after that this is annoying and will hurt your brand image. This might also reduce the effectiveness of your newsletters because people will consider your emails irrelevant

        2. Separate product and global experience reviews
To do that you can send an email right after the order has been delivered by the carrier to ask if they have received their order correctly and then put a link to a global review (Truspilot, Google..)
Then, a few days later, you can send another email, with a picture of the item they bought, asking for a product review. This will double your reviews !

        3. Package flyers
If you want to push it a little more you can add flyers to your packages (if you sell physical goods) asking people to give a review for the product they received. This mostly only work if you give a reward coupon with it because it requires a bit of work for the customer (they do not have to just follow a link, they have to go to the site and the review page themselves)

        4. Customer support reviews
One of the best ways to get positive reviews. Whenever you finished discussing a request with a customer (and it ends well), you can ask the client to leave a review if she/he is happy. The conversion rate is amazing and you barely get any bad feedbacks because you know you have satisfied the customer right before he wrote the review

        5. Website links
When you get reviews you will most likely put a widget on your website to display your ranking on Google, Trustpilot or other review platforms. This kind of widget gets a lot of views, many new visitors will check this page before making a purchase just to be sure that you are reliable. You probably know that. But many customers, who already bought from you, will also come to these pages and might leave reviews about their experience with you.
Make sure you make beautiful review widgets visible on your website, you will hit two birds with one stone.

I hope this helps some of you to get more feedback from your customers and grow your business!

Good write up and nice example of various options to incentivize customers to write a review. The only challenge as I see it, is to actually receive reviews that are reliable.

I like to use TrustPilot which prevents lots of the fake reviews people make on the internet.

There are some good review services too one can use with success.

I agree with AngryWarrior that Trustpilot is a good one.

              Nice post Angelus!

Thanks for sharing with the community.

One thing you “forgot” to mention in my opinion is to ALWAYS give your customers good quality customer service.

If they really like your service level then they will highly likely also talk good about you.👍
